Angel's Story
Hello, I’m Angel. The sweetest 3 yr old lab mix you will ever meet. We think I may have started life as a farm dog, because all the sounds in the city scare me. I don’t think I knew a lot of people in my early years, because I’m very timid.

I have a sad face, even when I am happy, I look sad. Its just the way my face wrinkles. It's one of my special quirks!

I came into rescue after likely being hit by a car. I had my leg fixed, and now get around fine. I love to run around in the back yard. I enjoy my foster dog friends, but have not decided about the cat at my foster home. Sometimes I will chase him, and other times I share my sofa spot.

Because of my rough start, I think I would like a home with another dog. I like to observe my resident dogs behaviors to know what is expected of me. I am a lot more comfortable with general sounds, but still need guidance with a lot of activities. I am also very comfortable with my kennel, and will likely need a kennel forever. I don’t need to be locked in it, but it is a safe space for me when I feel overwhelmed.

I’m fully potty trained, and starting to learn other commands. I love treats, but have a bit of a sensitive stomach, so they are limited. I need at least one walk a day, to keep my leg moving, and I’m a champ on a leash.

I love kids, but feel like I would like a less busy forever home. Once in a while visiting kids are great! But maybe not everyday. I live with teenagers right now, but prefer a more quiet lifestyle. I’m a low key girl, who doesn’t need a lot of action. I want a comfy bed, a good bone, and regular cuddles. PS. I do snore! My foster mom giggles at my snores a lot. I love belly rubs!

I’m pretty shy around new people, and we will need to go slow when getting to know each other. My foster mom will give you lots of tips to help us bond, but because I’m nervous, I may not be your best friend right away. But if you are willing to go slow, and help me continue to become the best girl I can be, I have no doubt I will make you a very loving and loyal friend!

If you are interested in knowing more about me or interested in meeting me please reach out to my foster mom Bethany at bethany.bertsch@gmail.com.

Adoption Fee: $450 (no checks)

Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home. Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home & truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption; discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, & 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
Last Hope, Inc. is an all volunteer, foster based, no kill rescue! You can see almost all of our dogs on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from 11 am - 2 pm at Apple Valley Petco (7590 150th St W, Apple Valley, MN 55124)
Policies: You do not have to have a fence to adopt a dog from us, but some dogs will require a fence or acres to play, or an active family who will make sure the dog gets the exercise it needs to be happy. Some dogs do not have the temperament that will do well with young children.
The Adoption Fee is not enough to cover the vet bills. Sales tax of almost 7.25% is also included in the adoption fee that you see. Please consider donating to Last Hope to help us save these animals!
CAN YOU FOSTER? By taking a dog or puppies temporarily into your home and then coming to our adoption days to help find them homes, we can save more! If you’re interested, please email our office @ mail@last-hope.org and give us your contact information and what you would like to foster and someone will get back to you! You can also apply to be a foster home on our webpage! In the upper left hand corner there’s a drop down tab with the link for canine foster home. Just fill it out online & submit! We will get back to you as quick as we can.
