Andy's Story

Andy is a gentle soul with a tender heart, quietly waiting for someone to see the sweetness behind his shy eyes. At six and a half years old, he has already been through more change than most dogs his age. Adopted as a young pup, Andy once began to find his footing in the world, especially during his time in foster care, where he slowly built confidence and learned to trust. But after being returned last year, that fragile confidence slipped away, and now the world feels like a much bigger, scarier place to him.

These days, Andy is very timid and easily overwhelmed by new sights, sounds, and experiences. He tends to hang back, observing from a safe distance, unsure but quietly hopeful. What brings him comfort—what truly grounds him—is his best friend and emotional support dog, Abby. She is his anchor. Wherever Abby goes, Andy follows, finding reassurance in her presence and courage in her calm companionship. Their bond is something special, a quiet reminder that Andy wants to connect—he just needs help feeling safe enough to do so.

Despite his fears, Andy is a good boy through and through. He is house-trained, crate-trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his vaccinations. He understands routines and finds comfort in them, thriving in environments where patience and kindness are part of everyday life.

Andy doesn't need a perfect home—just a gentle one. A loving family willing to move at his pace, to celebrate the small victories, and to offer steady reassurance could help him rediscover the confidence he once had. With time, understanding, and patience, Andy has the potential to blossom into a devoted and deeply loving companion.

If you have a soft spot for the shy ones, Andy just might be waiting for you.

Please fill out an application at Fureverdogdenver.com.
