Andi's Story

Andi is an approximately 3–4-year-old German Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix with a very fearful and skittish personality. She came into rescue after being trapped from a feral dog pack and struggled significantly in the shelter environment due to stress and fear.

Since transferring to rescue, Andi has been slowly decompressing in a quieter environment, but she remains extremely cautious and requires an experienced adopter with patience and behavior knowledge. She has a strong fight-or-flight response and will need ongoing management, structure, and gradual trust-building.

Andi is kennel trained and has done well with some other dogs in the past, though careful introductions and appropriate matches would be necessary. Due to her prey drive and fearful behavior, she is not suitable for homes with cats, small animals, or children.

She has a very high energy level and may benefit from structured activities or “jobs” appropriate for intelligent working breeds. However, she is not a candidate for off-leash activities and must always remain securely contained due to her tendency to flee when frightened.

Andi is looking for a calm, quiet, patient home with someone experienced in handling fearful or behaviorally complex dogs. She needs an adopter willing to work at her pace and provide the consistency and safety necessary for continued rehabilitation and trust-building.

Andi is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and dewromed. She is microchipped with lifetime registration.

If you are interested in Andi and have any questions, please reach out to General@RedstoneHuskyRescue.org
