Andarna's Story

We understand that a one-year-old dog who has already had knee surgery may not seem as immediately appealing as the endless stream of puppies at many rescues. But we truly believe this girl is a once-in-a-lifetime dog.

The good stuff (and there’s a lot of it):

• Extremely dog friendly (can be cat tested upon request)
• Loves respectful children
• Fully house trained
• Crate trained
• Has solid manners and obedience
• Compact, manageable size
• Excellent in the car
• Loves adventures and being outside
• Incredibly sweet, affectionate, and cuddly
• Intelligent and eager to learn
• Spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped
• Comes with free training support
• Fantastic at the vet
• Just turned one year old

Things to be aware of:

• Andarna previously had knee surgery due to poor knee conformation. She has recovered beautifully and is doing great, but she will need to stay lean and appropriately active long-term.

• She can sometimes bark when new people enter her home, particularly unfamiliar men. This behavior has improved tremendously with training. When she arrived at the shelter, she was terrified of people and had a scar on her nose consistent with someone having tied her mouth shut. Today, she no longer barks in public and continues to gain confidence. Ongoing training is included to help her continue progressing.

When you really look at it, her list of positives far outweighs the challenges. Andarna is loving, resilient, loyal, and ready to give her whole heart to someone who chooses her.

She is, without a doubt, someone’s dream dog. Please message the page or text 775-442-3043
