Analeigh's Story

**Currently enrolled in the Coffeewood Canines Program.

Analeigh is a 1-year-old Beagle/Heeler mix weighing 24 pounds who came to the shelter after living outdoors without proper care. She arrived thin and uncertain, but even in those early days her gentle spirit was evident. Her house history is unknown, and she is still learning what it means to live as a loved indoor companion.

Analeigh is sweet, sensitive, and quietly affectionate. She can be shy at first, especially with new people or unfamiliar environments, but she warms up with time, patience, and gentle encouragement. She has shown a calm curiosity about the world and is learning that people can be trusted. Bringing treats and moving at her pace go a long way in helping her feel safe.

She has done well with the other dogs she has met and would benefit from a confident canine companion to help guide her as she continues building confidence and learning household routines. When walked through the cat room, she showed no real interest, though any introductions in a home setting should be done thoughtfully. Analeigh will thrive in a calm, patient home that understands she is still navigating life indoors for the first time.

Analeigh is receiving full veterinary care and will be adoptable after her spay, microchip and heartworm test on 12/23. We have brought her current on all vaccines, given Dewormer and flea/tick prevention.

Apply to adopt here:
https://orangecountyva.gov/159/Pet-Adoption-Foster-Care-Information
