Meet Anakin ❤️<br/><br/>Almost seven years old, Anakin is looking for a new beginning after spending the last six years with a family. Through absolutely no fault of his own, he has found himself back in rescue, and our hearts break for him.<br/><br/>Anakin is a wonderful Retriever mix with a big heart and so much love to give. He had training when he was younger, listens well, and is kennel trained. In fact, he seems very comfortable in his kennel, leading us to believe he spent quite a bit of time in one.<br/><br/>His favorite things? People! He absolutely loves being with his humans, giving big kisses, soaking up neck scratches, and playing with his toys. Fetch is one of his favorite games... well, sort of! He'll happily chase the toy, but don't expect him to bring it back. 😂 If you grab hold of it, though, get ready for a fun game of tug-of-war because this handsome guy is surprisingly strong!<br/><br/>Anakin has been around young children, and as long as they are respectful of him, we believe he'll do well. He has never shown aggression toward people. He can, however, be selective with other dogs, so proper introductions and the right match will be important.<br/><br/>One thing you'll notice right away is his face. Anakin has the saddest, most disappointed expression sometimes, and it's impossible not to wonder what he's thinking. More than anything, he just wants someone who will love him, include him, and make him part of the family again. He deserves the security of knowing he's finally home for good.<br/><br/>Before adoption, Anakin will be visiting our veterinarian to get caught up on his vaccinations and other routine care, and we'll also have his teeth evaluated to see if he needs a dental.<br/><br/>If you're looking for a loyal companion who will cover you in kisses, make you laugh every day, and simply wants someone to love him forever, Anakin may be the missing piece of your family.<br/><br/>Could you be the one to give this sweet boy the happily-ever-after he has always deserved? ❤️www.pawsofadamscounty.com
