Amos's Story

Amos is a handsome, affectionate young Heeler. He’s a wonderful mix of mild-mannered and playful, enjoying both downtime with his humans and energetic play sessions with his dog friends. Amos loves romping with dogs his own size and plays like a typical Heeler, but he’s also gentle and respectful with smaller or senior dogs.

This sweet guy enjoys going for walks and walks beautifully on a leash using a harness (a harness is a must for him). He’s a true Velcro dog at heart. Amos wants nothing more than to be close to his humans and will happily stick by your side all day long.

Amos is athletic and can jump quite high, so a secure setup is essential for his safety. He will need a 6-foot wood privacy fence. Amos wants to be where his people are and will look for them if he can’t find them.

He will do best in a home with older children, as he’s still working on keeping all four paws on the ground when excited (and he’s making excellent progress!). He has not yet been tested with cats.

Amos would thrive with an adopter who understands his need for companionship, supervision, and structure and who is excited to include him as a full-time member of the family.

Amos is a loving dog who is ready to offer his heart and friendship. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who wants to do life with you, Amos may be your perfect match.

Amos weighs approximately 43 pounds and is estimated to be around 2 years old. He’s currently taking flea and heartworm preventative. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and is microchipped.
