Amos's Story

Amos is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet him, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.

Amos is approx. 2-month-old Retriever puppy with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. This sweet boy is a true cuddle enthusiast who adores being held, babied, and showered with affection. He happily soaks up attention from everyone he meets and does wonderfully with people of all ages. Amos is also very social with other dogs, showing a submissive and easygoing personality that allows him to get along beautifully with both smaller pups and dogs his own size.

Like many curious puppies, Amos sometimes gets a little distracted when it’s time to go potty outside, but he’s doing well using puppy pads indoors while he continues to learn. He settles in his crate after a few minutes and naps comfortably either there or stretched out on a cozy blanket on the floor—though he certainly wouldn’t object to a soft bed or sofa! He has already learned “sit,” and with how incredibly food-motivated he is, he’ll likely continue picking up new skills quickly. In fact, Amos loves food so much that he has even figured out how to open the pantry door in hopes of finding more!

Amos absolutely loves being outdoors. Running around the yard, playing, exploring, and even napping in the dirt are some of his favorite activities—and he’d happily stay outside all day if he could. He’s been introduced to a harness and handled it like a champ during a stroll around the yard and driveway. When playtime winds down, he enjoys chewing on nylabones or engaging in a good game of tug-of-war. Sweet, affectionate, and wonderfully gentle with other dogs, Amos is a lovable little boy who is ready to bring warmth, laughter, and endless cuddles to his forever family.

Interested in adopting this dog?
Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend.

We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog.

Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area.
