Amory's Story

This beautiful girl is AMORY and she's a a 9 month old German Shepherd puppy who weighs 57 pounds now so she'll likely be 65-70 pounds when she's fully grown. She's really a lovely happy girl who loves everyone and is great with other dogs too! She a big mush and loves to be with her peeps, getting affection and belly rubs, playing in the backyard and chewing some good bones and toys. You can see her happy personality in her photos with her big smile!
Amory is living with a Foster family on Long Island and is doing great! They have a senior Goldendoodle and a young child and Amory is so well behaved, she's playful and knows how to be gentle too. She is so beautiful and true to her breed by showing how smart and loyal she is.

Amory is available to ADOPT, FOSTER TO ADOPT OR FOSTER. If you're hoping to add a loving puppy who will be devoted, happy, loyal and love you with her whole heart...Amory may be your girl! We think she'd thrive with an active family and would love a fenced in yard. She'd do great with a doggie sibling too. She's healthy, up to date on all her vaccinations, house-trained and crate trained. Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes. What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
