America (FEE SPONSORED)'s Story

Meet America!

America is a handsome 8-month-old shepherd mix with a gentle soul and a heart as big as his paws. Now nearly 40 pounds and likely close to his adult size, he’s past the fragile puppy phase but still very much a growing boy with so much potential.

America is a sweet, sensitive pup who will be a bit nervous at first in new environments. He thrives best with a slow, quiet decompression period and a family willing to let him settle in at his own pace. When rushed, he can feel overwhelmed — but with patience, structure, and reassurance, he truly shines.

Once he feels safe, America is affectionate, playful, and incredibly lovable. He has no issues with the men in his foster home, has done wonderfully during vet visits, and warms up beautifully when given the time and support he needs. He gets along well with other dogs and cats and could do well in a home with respectful children who understand giving him space as he adjusts. He would do fine as the only dog with the right support to build his confidence on his own, though he does love his kitty siblings, so having some company in the home could be beneficial for him.

America is great off leash but is still building confidence on leash, so a home committed to continued confidence-building training will help him succeed. He loves to explore, learn, and connect — he just needs someone willing to meet him where he is.

If you’re looking for a medium-sized pup who will reward patience with deep loyalty and love, America may be your perfect match.

Apply below to adopt:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TGD/Dog
