AMELIA aka Marlee (28 lbs)<br/>Feist X , 6 YR<br/>Female <br/><br/><br/>Amelia (affectionately called Marlee by her foster family's human daughter) is a sweet, mellow and quiet little girl with a gentle and loving nature. She currently lives in her foster home with one dog and three cats, and there have been no issues at all. She ignores the kitties.<br/><br/>Unfortunately, Amelia did not have a good start in life. She was kept outdoors with three other dogs and received very little socialization. Eventually, she ended up in a shelter.<br/><br/>When Amelia first arrived at her foster home, she was very frightened of being indoors. Interacting with people inside the house was stressful for her, and she didn't even know how to play with toys.<br/><br/>Thankfully, with lots of love, kindness and patience from her foster family, Amelia gradually learned that a home is a wonderful place and that human companionship can be a beautiful experience. Today, she loves being petted and enjoys cuddling with her human sister. What a lovely transformation!<br/><br/>Amelia loves going for walks and, like most dogs, gets really happy and excited when her humans return home from work. She has also started learning how to play and continues to make wonderful progress. She enjoys visiting the dog park, where she loves the freedom of running off-leash. And one more bonus – she hardly ever barks!<br/><br/>Amelia does have some fears and sensitivities. Loud noises, sudden movements and thunderstorms can frighten her. She will need time to adjust to a new home and become comfortable with her surroundings, particularly in a busy urban environment.<br/><br/>She is quite good at letting her humans know when it's time for a potty break. When nature calls, she starts getting a little antsy, and her foster family knows it's time to take her outside. Amelia is in great shape and very fit for her age. She is also a light shedder!<br/><br/>A quiet adult home without small children would be ideal for Amelia, preferably with a fenced backyard where she can enjoy some outdoor time. We are looking for someone who has experience with rescue dogs and understands that building trust takes time. Amelia will need a patient and loving person who is willing to continue her training and socialization at her own pace, helping her gain confidence and discover more of the wonderful things life has to offer.
