Amelia's Story

Exceptionally well trained and eager to please, Amelia is truly a standout girl. She’s house trained, already knows sit, down, and roll over, and is both food and toy motivated — making her a dream to continue working with. She walks nicely, loves her Kongs, and is an excellent passenger on car rides. She’s wonderful with kids and has a beautiful balance of playful energy and calm companionship.

Amelia was found as a stray — all skin and bones, with an injured tail and a fragile little body. She had clearly been through so much. But in just a few short weeks in foster care, this resilient girl has completely blossomed.

Her tail is almost fully healed, she’s gained healthy weight, and her coat is now soft and shiny. At 39 lbs, she’s the perfect medium-sized companion with a lovely medium energy level: ready for fun when you are and happy to relax by your side.

Amelia is affectionate, gentle, friendly, incredibly smart, and so very sweet. She does get excited around cats, chickens, and smaller dogs and tends to bark at them, so a home without small animals — or one committed to slow, thoughtful introductions — would be the best fit.

Her transformation has been beautiful to witness, and now she’s ready for the next chapter — a forever family who will see just how special she truly is. 💛

Apply today: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FHVA/Dog
