Amber's Story
Don't let this sweet sugar face senior fool you! She's still got plenty of sass & speed! You'd never know she was 12 by the way she zooms around the yard.
Amber is a gentle, precious girl that is learning to love & trust again. Sadly, she recently lost her home of 8 years when her owner suddenly passed away. She's understandably cautious with all the recent change, but she can be won over with patience, kindness, consistency, and treats. Amber prefers a slow introduction to both people and calm, respectful dogs. It takes her a little bit to warm up but once she does she will shower you with kisses. Amber loves a soft bed and just being near someone. She prefers a neighborhood sniff walk over a crowded park. She won't be hiking any mountains or running marathons but she's all up for cuddling during a movie. She hasn't shown any interest in toys but she does like to grab a bone or stick to chew on. She's been a wonderful houseguest and will let you know when she needs to go out. She can be lured into a crate but it's not her favorite place. She can be a bit anxious when alone but this has calmed down over the past few weeks, she just wants to make sure she's not being left behind again! While in foster she has become comfortable enough to show her silly side - she'll greet you with the cutest tap dance, loves to "talk" about how much she missed you, and flops down on the grass to get all the good back scratches. Amber's intake paperwork did note a grade 1 heart murmur detected but you'd never know by the way she loves a game of chase and taunting you with her speedy moves. Girl has NFL worthy jukes! When you're ready to give up Amber does know that the sight of the leash is the end of the game.
Don't rule her out, Amber still has lots of love left to give!
