AMBER's Story

Amber is the kind of dog that just needs a minute... and maybe a couple treats. She's a little shy at first, but once she decides you're safe, that's it you've got a shadow for life. She will follow you everywhere, curl up as close as physically possible, and look at you like you're her whole world. Ultimate cuddle buddy status unlocked.

She's okay with other dogs, she just needs a little time to warm up. We have a puppy here, and after about three days of figuring each other out, they became best friends. Now they nap together like they've known each other forever. It's honestly the sweetest thing. She does bark at neighbor dogs or dogs she hasn't met yet, but once she gets proper time to adjust, she settles in.

Amber is still learning how to just be a puppy. There are some signs that she may not have had the kindest start in life. She takes longer to trust men, so something probably happened in her past. But watching her open up has been really special. She's warmed up beautifully to me and my boyfriend and is so loving once she feels safe.

I don't think she's ever really had a dog friend before coming to us, because she absolutely cannot get enough of playing. She plays until she drops. And if we try to separate her from our dog, she cries because she just wants to be with her again. She's discovering joy in real time and it's pretty incredible to watch.

Amber just needs patience, love, and someone willing to let her bloom at her own pace. Once she does, you'll have the most loyal, snuggly little best friend you could ask for.
