Amaya's Story

Hi, I’m Amaya. My story almost ended before it truly began.
I came from a high-kill shelter in California, where I waited and waited for someone to notice me. Even though I never had any behavior issues and the shelter staff always said I was very sweet, my time simply ran out. I was placed on the euthanasia list — not because of who I am, but because I had been there too long.
Through it all, I stayed gentle. I stayed calm. I trusted humans, even when my world felt uncertain. The shelter workers often talked about how loving and easygoing I am, how I quietly waited for affection and gave it back tenfold.
Thanks to rescue, I was given a second chance at life. Now I’m ready for what I’ve always dreamed of — a safe home, a soft bed, and a family to love forever. I’m a loyal, peaceful companion with a sweet soul and a heart full of gratitude.
I survived not because I was loud or flashy, but because I’m kind. And now I’m hoping my forever family will find me.
Could that be you? 🐾🤍
