Amara's Story

Welcome to rescue Amara!
Amara is a 2.5-year-old Newfie beauty who just landed in her foster home in eastern Massachusetts.
So far Amara has enjoyed cuddles and grooming, she loves to drag her foster mom around on leash (she's a work in progress!), her foster mom has had some success walking her on a comfortable harness with a double leash clip for more safety and control. Her adopters will definitely need to continue working with her on this.

We believe Amara would be ok with a dog-savvy cat with slow, patient introductions because she will chase and need guidance to learn kitty manners.

It's clear that Amara is dog-friendly but she doesn't have a lot of dog experience so she is a little clueless with their queues. She is doing well and learning a lot from the other dogs in her foster home.

She would likely topple over smaller kids, but she adores the teens in her foster home and would be so happy to have some teens of her own!

She's cheeky and mischievous and lovable- just like an adolescent Newfie should be!
Stay tuned as we get to know this sweet girl and get her up to date on spay and routine vetting.

Keep checking our website for updates or submit an early application today. You only need to apply once to be considered for any dog that is a match for your home!

** Want to send this dog a gift? When you purchase a bib or bandana from our store with the code 4FOSTER they will receive it. The rescue receives the profit from the sale and the foster dog receives a gift!

When purchasing for a specific dog, please include that note in the comments.

Or, purchase one for yourself!

Link for Bibs

https://nationalnewfoundlandrescue.com/product-category/bib/

Link for Bandanas

https://nationalnewfoundlandrescue.com/product-category/bandanas/
