Alysa Liu's Story

MEET ALYSA LIU: THE NEXT GOLD MEDAL WINNER!

Every great champion has an origin story, and Alysa's begins in Oakland. Named after legendary figure skater Alysa Liu -- because they are both absolute baddies from Oakland with the same black and gold ombre hair -- this little dynamo is ready to stick the landing in her forever home.

ALYSA'S STORY

Alysa's beginnings are roundabout. We believe she was born in Fresno, transferred to San Francisco, and after being adopted there, surrendered to Oakland shortly thereafter. She hit the ground running through the shelter circuit, so-to-speak. We scooped her up in Oakland and placed her in an amazing foster home so she could regroup and recharge. Like her namesake, Alysa has already been through a few rounds of competition - but she is more than ready for her podium moment now!

THE PERSONALITY: A PERFECT 10

If tail-wagging were an Olympic sport, Alysa would take gold every single time. Her tail is like a little metronome set to allegro - it whips side to side and her entire body wriggles along with it, making an audible *thwap thwap thwap* as it goes. It is genuinely one of the most joyful things you will ever see!

Alysa is spirited in the best possible way. She loves to play with other dogs, adores toys, and goes absolutely all-in during playtime - think triple axel levels of gusto. But here is where the magic happens: put her in her crate and she powers down like she just finished a flawless free skate. She is crate trained and calm when it counts.

On the potty training front, she is skating a solid program - about 80% of the time she goes outside, and if you tell her "go potty," she will. A few more weeks of consistent coaching and she will be nailing that routine with zero errors.

WHY SHE DESERVES THE GOLD

Alysa Liu the skater became the youngest U.S. ladies' champion in history. Alysa Liu the puppy is looking to set her own record - as the puppy to steal your entire heart in record speed. She is athletic, affectionate, playful, and has an off-switch that most puppy owners only dream of.

All she needs now is a coach - er, family - to help her train for the biggest event of her life: being the best dog ever.

THE STATS

Breed: German Shepherd/Pit Bull mix (best guess)
Date of Birth (approx): November 27, 2025 (a Thanksgiving baby)
Age: About 13 weeks
Weight (as of 2/28/26): Almost 13 lbs
