Alvin's Story

Alvin is a darling Chihuahua-Pomeranian mix who has been patiently waiting for his chance at a forever home. At just under 2 years old, Alvin is one of our longest residents, and while shelter life has been a little overwhelming for him, he continues to show quiet, meaningful progress every day.

Alvin is a very shy, sensitive boy who needs time to feel safe in new environments. He may not be the dog who rushes right up to you-but give him patience and kindness, and you'll be rewarded. Once Alvin trusts you, his sweet personality shines. He's recently started happily jumping into the laps of a few trusted volunteers, and watching his confidence grow has been incredibly special.

Because of his gentle nature, Alvin would be an excellent foster-first candidate. A calm, loving home would allow him to decompress and truly blossom into the companion we know he can be. He's an easy, low-key boy who doesn't cause any issues-just a soft-hearted dog looking for someone willing to take a chance on him.

Alvin is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and ready for the next chapter of his life. If you have a little patience and a big heart, Alvin would love nothing more than the opportunity to prove how special he is.

Sometimes the shy ones just need someone to believe in them.
