Alpine's Story
Meet Alpine,

This 7 month old border collie puppy that found herself on an Alabama euthanasia list for no other reason than "length of stay".

Despite her soulful brown eyes, intelligence, and loyalty, she and her litter were going to be put down due to a lack of space at the shelter.

She is a relatively new addition to the rescue, but so far, he's been food motivated, playful, quiet in her kennel, and hasn't had any accidents. She is a quick learner, and true to the breed. She is full of energy and has natural instincts to herd, doing the classic "border collie crawl". If this bio sounds similar to her brother, that's because it is! They are true twins.

Being a puppy (and being raised in a small, muddy, isolating pen her whole life), there are still skills she needs to work on. She is a jumper, she'll need to build confidence with new experiences, and she sometimes herds other dogs during play (though she accepts corrections from them as well).

Between her brains and his age, he has his whole life ahead of her. She would love a home that understands how smart border collies are, and how to keep them engaged and entertained. She would love to stay active with you, being your jogging partner, hiking buddy, or fishing companion.

To apply, please fill out our adoption application at herdinghomerescue.com/adopt

We do adopt out of state, including Hawaii, but adopter is responsible for expenses related to transport.

She is also looking for a foster local to Central Tx. She has not been tested with cats or livestock, and will be adopted as an indoor pet only.
