Almo - WA's Story

Meet Almo. He is a 6yr old boy currently in foster care here in Washington state. He is neutered, UTD on vaccinations and microchipped. Almo came to us from a local shelter. When he entered the shelter he was covered in dirt and mud Almo also had terrible skin infected ears. With medicated baths and switching to a limited ingredient food his skin looks much better. af<br/>His front feet are slightly deformed, likely as a result of poor nutrition as a puppy. But he gets around just fine with no signs of discomfort. He is a very loving boy who wants to be by your side for cuddles, lap time and lots of paw shakes. He is crate trained and housebroken. He takes treats very gently and loves a good stuffy toy. Because he had what I suspect was food insecurity he resource guards his food dish. He is undergoing behavior modification training for this. He has no issues being fed in his crate, allowed to eat his meal, then the empty dish being removed. He would do best in a home without other dogs, unknown about cats and would be fine with teenagers. He has been exposed to other dogs and does not react harshly, but is very focused. If you are interested please contact Shanita Duke at Taif1995@comcast.net for more information. We hope that sweet Almo finds his soft place to land soon. He will make a great companion for a lucky person.
