Ally's Story
**WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. For adoption information go to: www.homewardbounddogrescue.com. You must fill out an application online as we do NOT accept applications at our clinics.

Ally is 1 year old and only 10 lbs, and she's very wary of people.

Ally's must haves in a forever home are a fenced yard and doggy siblings. She thrives with other dogs and follows them everywhere. She loves to play and sleeps well in a crate as long as there's a dog in a crate next to her.

She hasn't had any accidents in the house since she got to NY, but the foster house has a doggy door so she can go outside when she needs to.

Ally absolutely does not want humans to touch her. If you reach for her, she bolts. She can't walk on leash at all. If you have to pick her up for something - you can corner her and pick her up and she won't bite - but she hates it. She does like being in the same room as her person. And will even lay around near them. But no touching.

Ally gains all her confidence from other dogs and is quite easy to take care of because of that. She sticks with the pack and does as they do.

If you have a pack of dogs and you'd like a bit of a project - Ally may be your girl. I'm hopeful she will let people touch her one day, but no guarantees!

Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
