We'll have several wonderful dogs there looking for homes!<br/><br/>———————<br/><br/>ALLISTER was a shy guy when he came in, but he’s coming out of his shell and gaining confidence more and more each day. He’s sweet-natured, calm, and gentle, and he really thrives with patience and kindness. He’ll walk on a leash, though he sometimes needs a little encouragement and reassurance — and that’s just part of his charm.<br/><br/>He’s had a rough start in life, having lived outdoors with several other dogs and very limited shelter. Even so, Allister is learning what comfort and safety feel like, and it’s been wonderful to watch him slowly blossom.<br/><br/>With a loving, patient home, Allister will continue to grow into a loyal and devoted companion — the kind of dog who may start out quiet, but ends up stealing your whole heart.<br/><br/>Allister is a 3 year old Border Collie / Blue Heeler Mix that weighs 40lbs.<br/><br/>Sadly, Allister tested positive for heartworms. But please don’t let this scare you away! We just need to get him into a home during his treatment. The cost for the heartworm treatment is completely covered. We can provide you with more info about his heartworm treatment if you are interested in adopting or fostering him (we’d love to find him a foster home!). Once his treatment plan is completed, Allister will be able to live a normal healthy life with no restrictions!<br/><br/><br/>ADOPTING A DOG<br/>Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).<br/><br/>If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.<br/><br/>We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend.
