Alix's Story
Meet Alix, the ultimate combo of play and sass with a heart as big as her energy level!

This spirited gal is your dream dog if you're up for endless fetch games, splashy pool sessions, and a fan club worth of belly rub requests. Alix is a social butterfly with other dogs and a playtime expert—but she’s got a “No Cats Allowed” sign on her list of preferences. Her perfect day includes running, jumping, and keeping the action rolling with an active pup buddy who loves to play as much as she does.

Now, Alix doesn’t make fast friends—she prefers to size you up first. But once you’re in her inner circle? Prepare for love, belly rub demands, and a partner-in-crime. She’s great on a leash, quiet in her oversized kennel (to keep that hip comfy post-surgery!), and has a low bark-to-love ratio. And yes, she’s a bit of a jumper—so larger kiddos would be her best fit. We’ve seen a little resource guarding when she first arrived, but she’s become more chill now, especially with the guidance of a confident dog companion to show her the ropes.

True to her Husky spirit, Alix has a bit of that famous independent streak. She’s smart and learns quickly, especially when she’s with a patient human who understands her quirks. She can be a little selective with her friends and takes time to decide who’s in her inner circle. Oh, and while she doesn’t vocalize much, she does have a Husky-ish habit of resource guarding when she’s still figuring things out, but her confidence around other dogs helps her learn boundaries.

She’s house-ready with a few reminders about her hip needs—like a spacious crate and a family that gets her active lifestyle. Spayed, chipped, up to date on vaccines, and 4DX tested, Alix is as ready as she’ll ever be to find her perfect forever home. If you're looking for an adventure-loving, water-splashing, playtime rockstar, Alix is waiting to bring some serious fun to your life!

Want to meet her? Please fill out our application at azhartt.org/adopt

Requirements include meeting everyone in the household, dog intros (if applicable), and a home check.

Adoption applications are approved on a best-fit basis.

We do not do out-of-state adoptions.
