Alicent's Story
Alicent was pulled with three other members of her family from a neglect/hoarding case. This beautiful, social dog, assumed to be a heeler/hound mix, had spent the first 3 years of her life alone and on a chain. We were heartbroken but not suprised when she and her 2 companions Rhaenyra and Miss Missy all tested heartworm positive, and we buckled in for the long haul, dedicated to making sure they completed their treatment before moving onto their next home.

That was 7+ months ago. The difficult part is over now - the months of kennel rest, medications, injections, the waiting game. It's now time for Alicent to find her forever home!

Alicent's littermate has gone on to thrive in a home with children of various ages, another dog, and cats, and we think Alicent may do well in a similar environment. Alicent keeps a clean kennel, is improving her leash skills, and is a friendly, happy, and silly dog who loves to play, run, and enjoys her treats. Because she had been kept in isolation for so long, she was confused by the prospect of a doggy friend, but she now plays and bounces with the best of them.

Alicent enjoys soft beds, Nylabones, and will chew on a bone for hours. She has an old leg injury, but she does not let it stop her athletic prowess.

If you think this affectionate, vivacious, and surviving soul might be a good fit for you and your family, please come and meet her! She's been at FFAA since the beginning of May 2025, and the sooner the better for her to move on to the next chapter of her life.
