Alice's Story

Alice would like a place to rest her head and be loved on. She loves to roam outside in the fenced in yard. She will tell you when the temperature becomes too cold for her, otherwise you will have to bring her in. She loves to snuggle in someone’s arm as long as you are just loving her and keeping her safe. If you try to give her hermedicines she will just say no thankful and say you can go away. We have figured out how to give her medication in her food. Since she loves to eat, she will take it with food now.

Alice was thought to be about 10 years old at the shelter but we think she is older. She has an old ladies’ heart, a heart murmur and bad teeth. Her heart is enlarged which caused coughing but with heart medication the coughing had decreased. Her teeth are not great but she has been on a dental supplement to keep infections at bay. Her awful teeth do not hinder her eating. She wants to eat all day. Both soft and dry hard food are fine for her as long as she gets to eat.

Due to Alice’s medicines, she does have to pee a lot. She does wear a diaper to help with accidents. But she loves to go out whenever we take her. She will use puppy pads frequently but not all the time.

Alice’s wants a place to lay her head and feel safe in the twilight of her life. She is sweet but does have her old age needs. She did not deserve to be in the shelter at her age. She deserves a soft place to land. If you have space in your heart she would love to come live with you.

If interested in adopting Alice, please complete an application at safeanimalhaven.org. Thank you!
