Meet Albondiga

Albondiga (also goes by Meatball) is beautiful inside and out! This adorable girl is 5 years old and weighs just under 25 lbs. She is truly the sweetest dog ever. She is playful, snuggly, and loves the company of all people. She loves car rides and going for lots of walks! She does well being groomed, and quite enjoys it to be honest! She loves her daily sunbathing sessions and is a pretty easy going and relaxed girl. But she still musters up some energy to run and play outside with the kids! She loves kids. She loves everybody who crosses her path. Anyone who will pet her, love her, and dote on her will be her best friend forever. She's well mannered and easy in all places and situations, even if theyre a little noisy or crowded. She is good with other dogs but plays rough and would do best in a home with other dogs of similar size or larger than her and can keep up with her energy level. She would do best in a home without kitty cats though! She's very smart and knows several commands and walks perfectly on leash.

Albondiga came to us from the euthanasia list at the shelter where she arrived there as a stray as a hot mess. She is healthy now but she requires eye lubricant 2-3 times a day for dry eye that was left untreated for far too long. And due to an ear infection that was never treated and left her ear so compacted, her ears and hearing are not great but thankfully healed and require no additional care.
At the time of going in for spay, it was discovered that she was suffering from a severe case of Stump Pyometra. Because this was such a MAJOR surgery and recovery, this has left her with a minor case of incontinence BUT it should not be lifelong according to the vets. Just while her muscles and body fully recover and get back on track, she needs a family who will be patient and understanding while she goes through this time of life. She holds her urine in just fine but she cannot hold her stool in for long, if at all, especially at night. She is completely crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night with a puppy pad.
