Albert's Story
Meet our handsome boy, Albert. Albert was adopted several years ago, but he is back at HoundSong due to his adopters having health issues, which caused them to be unable to care for Albert any longer. Albert has been navigating being in a new home, but his foster family said he is doing well. Albert is great with other dogs, but we have not had him around cats or other small animals. He is house trained too. Albert is really looking for a retirement home where his family is home more often. This is because he can get a bit anxious when you leave. He is not naughty, but we think he gets worried that he will be left behind. He does NOT like a crate though, so his foster home doesn't make him stay in there. Although, he is a counter surfer, so food will have to put up when you are gone (and probably when you are home because beagles at any age are food motivated and a little sneaky).

Albert is still a spry guy at around 10 years old. He gets the zoomies sometimes and loves to run around with the other beagle in his foster home. He also loves to go for walks and chase those pesky squirrels. Albert will need to be walked and continue with his diet as he is a bit overweight. His foster mom is working on this by using a slow feeder and slowly lessening the amount of food he eats. Currently, he weighs about 36lbs, and we would like to see him closer to that 30lb mark.

Want to meet Albert? All our dogs live in foster homes, so a meet and greet will have to be scheduled with the foster family.

HoundSong Rescue dogs are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. HoundSong Rescue also offers Fi Collars for an additional $100 fee. Fi Collars are GPS collars with many other features we find valuable when owning a hound. Our amazing adoption coordinators will happily answer any questions you have in regards to the Fi Collar and the dog you are interested in adopting.

Pet Friendly Services of Indiana provides grant funding, in the form of free discount coupons, to help shelters and rescue groups spay/neuter cats and dogs in our care through the Pet Friendly Plate Program.
