Alastor Moody's Story

Hi, my name is Alastor Moody! I'm a RED pawprint, whic
h means I need an experienced home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Goofy, fun-loving, affectionate, energetic

-Can Live with Kids: Unknown history; can be jumpy/mouthy when overexcited and has some vision impairment in right eye. Likely best with older, calm, respectful, dog-savvy kids. Recommending 12+ at this time.

-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history; strong possibility of high prey drive and would likely prefer a cat-free home.

-Can Live with Dogs: Potentially, although it would have to be JUST the right match. During his first few times in WHS playgroup, Alastor romped around with a few select friends (a playstyle we categorize as "rough&rowdy") without issue. However more recently he's been having trouble with his "off switch" and doesn't always read/respect signals from other dogs. We're not sure if this is related to increasing kennel stress from being cooped up in a kennel or perhaps he just prefers to be an only dog... we're continuing to evaluate Alastor's dog/dog sociability, but at this time recommending he be an "only child."

-Can do Apartment Living: Not recommended due to breed/size/energy level (+is known to be vocal!)

-Potty Trained: Yes

-Bite History: No

-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, one private lesson (breed requirement)

-Energy Level: Medium/high

-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, neuter/microchip
Alastor Moody is an energetic, fun-loving dog with a lot of spunk! He came to us as a stray so not much is known about his history, but we do know he's more than ready to find his new forever adventure buddy. Alastor would benefit from continued training to help him brush up on some manners (like keeping all 4 paws on the floor and walking nicely on leash.) With a little time and consistency, this handsome fellow should catch on in no time. Alastor has a 10/10 tail wag/wigglebutt and will full-body-lean into your legs for optimum pets. We think he'd really love a spot next to you on the couch (or better yet, your bed if you'll let him!) although he said he's also perfectly happy curling up at your feet instead (he promises to keep them warm!)
