Alana's Story
**WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF FOSTER HOMES** Homeward Bound Dog Rescue is an all volunteer rescue organization and all our dogs and puppies are in foster homes - we are not a shelter and do NOT have a facility where we house our dogs. For adoption information go to: www.homewardbounddogrescue.com. You must fill out an application online as we do NOT accept applications at our clinics.

Alana is a 3 month old (probably) lab mix, weighing in just under 20 lbs. She is sweet but shy. It takes her a bit to warm up. She gets along well with other dogs, and actively avoids conflict with the one crazy chihuahua mix in the foster home. She would do best in a home with another confident dog to teach her the ropes.

She sleeps perfectly in her crate every night, and is fine during a work day with a drop in from a sitter. She is working on potty training still. She likes to go potty in one specific corner in the house, so as long as foster people catch her in time, she will go outside.

Alana prefers a home with a fenced yard since she’s so shy and still working on leash skills. She needs a safe place she can be outside while she learns confidence! Alana is a beautiful puppy with a quiet demeanor who would love a place to call her own!

Our adoption clinics are held one Saturday a month at our facility in Schenectady on John Street, located directly behind Boulevard Bowl (Erie Boulevard) from 10 am to 12 pm (directions are on our website). We require an approved application before we consider anyone for an adoption - so filling out the application is your first step. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email invitation to attend an adoption event. Different dogs and puppies go up for adoption EVERY WEEK so please feel free to visit the site and click on the Petfinder link for updates as we are adopting dogs out in between adoption events. Puppies and dogs up to 2 years old are $395. Dogs over 2 years old are $295. 100% of the adoption fees go to help us save more dogs.
