Alan's Story

Meet Alan, a 60-pound pup with a heart as big as his comeback story. Alan was surrendered to the shelter after suffering a severe injury that required surgery and intensive supportive care. Thanks to dedicated medical treatment and lots of love, he’s healed, thriving, and more than ready to start the next chapter of his life - the one where he’s cherished forever.
Quite possibly the most magnificent Malinois on planet Earth (we checked, it’s official), Alan is everything you adore about the breed and then some. He’s people-friendly, dog-friendly, athletic, and impressively book-smart. He walks on leash like a total professional, happily settles into his crate like it’s a five-star pup suite, and excels as both a Starbucks sidekick and a camping co-pilot.
Alan’s energy and drive are both moderate, and his off-switch works beautifully: hike when you hike, chill when you chill. Netflix marathon? He’s already on the couch. Adventure day? He’s laced up and ready. He truly wants to do whatever you love, because his favorite thing in the world is you.
Social and outgoing, Alan loves being included. He adores other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion. Car rides, vet visits, loud noises? He loves it all. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, praise-motivated, and knows sit, stay, lay down, and paw. Correction needed? None. Naughty habit? Occasionally moonlighting as a trash-can inspector.
If Alan were human, he’d be a psychiatrist/therapist/shaman; the kind of soul who just makes everything feel better. With his emotional intelligence, steady temperament, and deep bond with people, he would make an incredible emotional support or service dog.
Alan isn’t just a good dog. He’s certified magic. And he’s ready to give his whole heart to the right home.
Located in Topanga, CA and transport is available.
