AIYONNA's Story

Meet Aiyonna – your future playmate and cuddle buddy! Aiyonna is a playful, energetic, and incredibly friendly girl who lives life to the fullest. She loves to play hard with her tough chewer toys, zoom around to burn off energy, and then curl up on the couch for snuggles with her people and her doggy friends. Her perfect day includes plenty of playtime followed by quality cuddle time. With medium-to-high energy, Aiyonna would thrive in a home that can give her daily exercise and enrichment. She currently enjoys at least an hour of play and activity each day and would benefit from a fenced-in backyard where she can safely run, explore, and stretch her legs. Aiyonna is very comfortable being touched and handled and enjoys affection all over—there aren’t any spots she’s sensitive about being petted. She is friendly with everyone she meets and interacts well with other dogs, especially medium to large playmates. She is playful, social, and does not show possessiveness with toys or people. She is still young and learning her manners. Aiyonna can jump up when greeting people and is currently working on leash skills, as she tends to pull during walks. With continued training and consistency, she will only get better. She has had limited experience with men and children, so a family willing to help her continue building confidence and good habits would be ideal. Aiyonna has made great progress with potty training and is learning to signal when she needs to go outside by going to the door. After about three weeks in her foster home, she’s really settled in—showing off her sweet side by relaxing, cuddling, and enjoying quiet time after play. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate dog who will keep you active and then happily snuggle up by your side, Aiyonna could be your perfect match.

Adoptions are free and include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home. Adopted pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before leaving with you. To view our current available animals, please visit: https://indy.gov/activity/adopt-a-pet.
