Aila Pit Bull Terrier Hayward, CA

Adopt Aila! Foster mom picked her name because it means perseverance. Which is exactly what Aila has done. She has been persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. Aila is an approximately 3 year old spayed female pitbull. Ms Aila loves her people! She wants to please and is very food motivated. She is a little fearful of new people at first but warms up quickly and is everyone’s friend-especially if you give her a treat. Aila loves to bury herself in a blanket and she will snuggle for hours. She would LOVE to sleep on the bed with her person but is crate trained and it is definitely her safe place. She is most happy when she is with her people but can be alone and self soothes. She likes toys and chew bones as well and will eat anything you give her. She can catch a ball if you toss it to her and will drop it for you to throw again if she is in the mood. She has a favorite stuffed toy and will bring it with her when she is excited.

Aila is missing her right front leg but it doesn’t stop her! She is learning to use her prosthetic leg but is also quite agile without it. She jumps on and off the bed, goes up and down the stairs, loves car rides, and is quite fast when she wants to be. She is easy to give a bath and lets us clean her ears, cut her nails, and look at her teeth. She knows basic commands such as sit, stay, come, drop. When she was first rescued her ears were a concern but they are much improved and stay healthy with routine cleaning. Unfortunately Aila really needs to be the only pet in the house. She is reactive to other dogs and although we have not introduced her to other types of pets she has a strong prey drive so may not do well with smaller animals. She would be a great and loyal companion for someone who wants the one on one relationship she needs to be successful.
