Agnes's Story

Agnes is a 6-year-old Hound, weighing a graceful 50 pounds, and radiating sweetness in every way. When she first arrived, she was very quiet and moved with stiffness, as if she was in pain. She was vocal at times, clearly uncomfortable, and we soon discovered she was suffering from Lyme Disease, which we’re currently treating. Despite this rough start, Agnes has shown incredible resilience, and with the right care, she's already on the path to feeling better.

This gentle girl is a true sweetheart with an affectionate nature. Once her pain eased, her true spirit began to shine. Agnes is friendly, social, and loves greeting everyone with a wagging tail, perked ears, and a warm heart. Her joy is contagious, and she makes every moment feel a little brighter.

Agnes has truly blossomed in the company of other dogs. She thrives in playgroups and has done wonderfully with the dogs she’s met. Whether it's playtime or simply lounging in the sun, Agnes brings a steady, calming presence to those around her.

Though she’s still adjusting, she’s already mastered the basics of household routines and keeps her space neat. With time, patience, and love, she’ll continue to open up and adapt to her new home.
Agnes is available for foster-to-adopt and will be spayed before final adoption. She is current on vaccines, heartworm tested and microchipped. She’s also started on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

To Apply for Adoption/Foster please copy and paste the following link:
https://orangecountyva.gov/158/Animal-Shelter
