Agent's Story

Meet Agent — Your Very Own Cuddle Security Detail.

At approximately six years old and 55 lbs of pure snuggle power, Agent is a black lab mix with a heart as sweet as his face—and a cowlick on his head that refuses to be tamed (just like his loyalty). He is very shy, a bit quirky and needs someone who will help him build his confidence with new people and situations.

Agent is the best hugger in town—no, seriously, it's in his résumé. He gives full-body cuddles (and humps), warm nuzzles, and bonus tail wags at no extra charge. He's house-trained, crate-trained, and most importantly, trained in the ancient art of blanket sharing. He walks amazing on leash and loves to play in water.

BUT—as with any good Agent—he's got a bit of a suspicious streak. He's leery of strangers and will absolutely alert you if a squirrel so much as blinks in your direction. He takes his job as personal bodyguard very seriously and prefers a home where he can ease into new friendships slowly and on his terms.

Now, here's the part that blows our minds: Agent has been with us for almost four years. That's over 1,350 days of waiting patiently, perfecting his cuddle technique, and wondering how many more “good boy” gold stars it'll take to get noticed. He's basically the Tom Hanks of the rescue world—Cast Away, but with fewer volleyballs and more milk bones.

His former foster housed him with cats where he learned to be respectful of his feline siblings but has been in boarding for many months so may need a reminder. When Agent is comfortable he is such a loving playful boy. He is dog and kid friendly but prefers dogs who don't act crazy in his face.

So if you've been looking for a loyal sidekick that adores car rides with a teddy bear heart and a touch of secret service, Agent is ready to report for duty (and couch snuggles).
