ADOPTION pending - Oliver 's Story

Look at this handsome boy!!!!
Oliver just turned 4 in December so there's lots of fun with him still. He has lived with other pets all of his life as far as we know, and does fine with cats. He does try to push the boundaries for alpha if allowed, but he has not shown aggression. Oliver needs an experienced owner who can remind him he doesn't own the house. He has done very well with house-training having gone several weeks without any accidents. He eats fine while other animals are around, doesn't try to steal from others. However he WILL steal from the counter-tops if given the opportunity. Knows how to sit for a treat.

Not quite a fluff but almost, which does require more grooming but fluffy corgis do not typically shed as much. Shaving is not appropriate for a corgi's coat unless it becomes upkept and can't be brushed out. Oliver has been weighing right at 30 pounds, but he is quite long. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and on heartworm-flea prevention in addition to being micro-chipped. He did arrive in rescue with ear mites and he is nearly finished with the treatment. He does not do real well at the veterinarian's office and may need some mild sedation when he does have to go. That could improve over time however.

Oliver is crate trained, but also enjoys sleeping with humans; he's equally pleased with male for female hoomans. He loves toys and likes to toss them about to catch. He does well on a leash. However, when going out the door, he tends to try and sneak through to dart out the door. Therefore we will give most consideration to homes with fenced yards. CCK does adopt out of state but does not fly its dogs

Overall, Oliver is just a big goofy Corgi that needs some structure and lots of attention. His adoption fee is $300.
