QUICK UPDATE: THOR HAS ARRIVED AND IS DOING SO WELL!!! He’s a approx 1 ½ -2 years young and has a beautiful Blue-Fawn Brindle coat. He’s housebroken, crate trained (although not necessary), walks well on a leash, is good with people (children included) and great with other dogs. He’s mild mannered, so gentle and so sweet. NO aggression at all!!! You can put you hand in his food bowl while he’s eating, take it away, give it back, same goes for toys, etc. You’d be impressed with how he shares with people and even with other dogs (you should see them all drink water together). Thor has been fully vetted and has received a clean bill of health. All he needs now is a furever family of his own that will promise him a life filled with love and happiness. Most important, is that he finds a home that will be as loyal to him as he will be to them. He is such a lover and just simply wants the same in return. He is shy so it may take a little time for you to see what we’ve seen but it won’t take long before your heart will melt for him (ours has!!!). A dream come true. An angel wrapped in velvet fur. You pick the platitude, whether it be cliched or ridiculous, and it still won't be good enough for our beloved Thor. This 1.5 year old Buddha-like boy, who weighs 56 pounds, has an amazing story that attests to his greatness: He was found (prepare yourself) in a box. But he was not only brought in untranquilized to the shelter, but the very busy driver actually paused to enter a note about his transport: "Thor is a nice dog!" If we may quibble with the specifics, he's so much more than that. He appears housetrained, he is a beautiful walker on a leash, and he adores the company of humans while seeming utterly unphased by the dogs around him. And if the eyes are a window to the soul, then Thor's soul is a techni-color, stunning one for sure: His eyes are this magical shade that shift from grey to brown to blue. I know we're sounding besotted, but if you met him for even a second you would swoon, too. Even strangers passing us along the street exclaimed about how beautiful he is. He has had such a rough time of it, and he is such a noble sport, please won't you let him begin life in the beautiful home he is aching for? When he approaches the shelter after a long walk, he hangs his head and slows his step, pleading to be allowed to remain outside. It's almost too much to bear. Please, don't make him bear it any longer!
