ADOPTED! Moose

Moose's short life didn't get off to a very good start. We're not real sure how he came to be with 1 of his owners but it appeared he was basically spending most of his time in a kennel. A woman saw him posted for sale and just out of curiosity, she went to see Moose. When she saw his condition, she, and her young son, just knew they couldn't leave him. But she also knew she couldn't keep him. Lucky for Moose, she contacted CCK and we were able to secure a new foster home for him. The kind woman saw to it that Moose was vaccinated and even had him neutered.<br/><br/>Moose will be just 2 in September and he is catching up on a lot of lost time. Moose is HIGH ENERGY. A 2-mile walk just isn't enough for him. He needs play, stimulation and also some socializing when it comes to meeting other dogs - he's over-the-top excited to meet them. He loves most everyone that crosses his path. He has some a long ways with some basic obedience.<br/><br/>Here's a little bit more about Moose from his fosters: He has learned to sit (except when very excited). He will wait for me to release him before he goes for his food. He also will wait for me to go outside before I release him to go out - except sometimes I forget to have him wait. He loves to walk and be outside. He also follows us around wherever we are in the house. Very good rider in the car. He is kennel trained - nothing I did. He just does it. Will even go sit in his kennel when we are busy in the area. He doesn't jump on us like he used to, but he has to be reminded sometimes. I think he is very trainable with some effort on the part of the trainer. He loves people and is very friendly.<br/>And - he is a very good eater. He always cleans his bowl! lol He is definitely a corgi.<br/><br/>Moose was not reliably house-trained when he came into rescue and has not had any accidents in recent weeks. It's likely he will need to be watched closely when he goes to his furr-ever home until he adjusts to a new environment.<br/><br/>Ideally we want Moose to join a home where there is another accepting and active playmate for him. His new family should be willing to continue his training to help him be the best boy ever. Moose would probably be a great candidate for flyball or agility.<br/><br/>We do not adopt to homes where no one is home all day; especially in Moose's case. He needs to have lots of activity and minimal crate time. We do adopt out of state but do NOT ship our dogs.<br/><br/>His adoption fee is $300.
