Addy's Story
Addy is a brown and black Yorkshire Terrier, she's around 8.5 lbs and is 8-10 years old. She's spayed, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines and monthly preventatives.

Addy is fostered around Jacksonville, FL. This poor darling was used for breeding and likely discarded when her health declined and she went blind. Addy takes daily eye drops to keep her eyes comfortable and reduce the likelihood of infection.

Addy may be blind but she has no trouble navigating her world—she moves thoughtfully and carefully through her home. She always seems to know where you are and finds her way to you. She develops a particularly strong bond with her preferred human and finds comfort in their presence.

Addy thrives on being close to her person! She's a great work from home buddy and curls up on her foster mom's lap while she works. She's also an expert errand buddy, she'll happily nestled in a cozy pet purse while out shopping.

Addy is a bit of a princess when it comes to food—she’s a picky eater, this is not uncommon according to other Yorkie enthusiasts.

Addy is doing good with house and potty training. She'll go outside to the yard or on a walk to do her business. She's also learning to use potty pads. She adores slow, peaceful leash walks where she can take her time and experience the world through her nose and paws.

Due to Addy's past a breeding dog, she isn't interested in playing, especially ruff-housing. Addy does well with older respectful children. She'd do best in a kid-free home as she is startled by sudden noises and quick movement. Her blindness makes her more sensitive to these things. She hasn't met any cats.

Addy's fur-ever home needs patient, loving people. Ideally ones who are experienced with medical conditions and have no issues helping Addy with her eye drops and meds. She'd do best with people who are home more often than not to help continue her house and potty training success. She'd do best in an adult-only home as an only dog. She'd enjoy a yard but that isn't a requirement.
