ACOMA's Story
Acoma is a sweet little love that will melt into you when giving her cuddles! Dogs: Acoma gets along very well with other dogs. She was a part of a play pair at the shelter and has done exceptionally well with her three current foster siblings, which range in weight from 12 lbs to 77lbs. Acoma is pretty adaptable and would be fine to be adopted with dogs (or not!). Cats: A home with cats *could* be possible. However, slow introductions are key. She has shown signs of maybe wanting to chase, but she definitely could adjust with the right guidance. Although, no cats is easiest. House Manners: Acoma is wonderful, and we mean WONDERFUL, in her crate and settles down easily. Acoma is potty trained, knows sit, and rides great in the car. Personality: Whether you’re in the mood for a chill dog or one with some energy to spare, Acoma is flexible. She can absolutely play and be energetic-- she is an EXCELLENT jogging buddy (take the lead and she will follow!) and loves going on adventures, but is also content to relax when needed. She’s been found sometimes throwing a toy in the air by herself, rolling on the floor, or doing other silly things (her zoomies are super adorable). But it’s clear that she knows how to settle and nap and chill and have good manners. She takes treats very gently. Little Shy, but So Sweet: Acoma is a bit more on the shy side than outgoing, but has shown great improvement with sudden movements and loud noises. She would do well in a loving environment that gives her time to feel comfortable. Kids: even though she’s shy, Acoma seems to prefer the small humans. At her first slumber party, there were two kids, Acoma did well. Overall she’s a very gentle soul and hasn’t jumped much and isn’t bouncing off the walls. If you’re looking for a canine companion who gets along well with others and loves to play, Acoma is your perfect match!
