Ace's Story
Ace of Hearts - meet Ace!
Ace is a 2 year old neutered Husky/Lab mix. He is an incredibly sweet boy, who sadly hasn’t had much luck in finding a forever home. He’s hoping his luck will turn around soon, and he will be back with a loving family!
Ace has had quite the whirlwind of a story. He originally came to HSHP almost half a year ago, after his owner passed away and there was no one to take Ace in. He was then adopted from us, but is now back at the shelter due to it not being a good fit. As the saying goes, third time’s the charm - so let’s hope the next time sticks for good!
Ace has been around other dogs, and while he’s gotten along great with dogs of his own size, he doesn’t seem to like dogs smaller than him. With him showing these signs of pickiness, we recommend a meet and greet with any dogs in the home. Ace has been around kids, and typically does well with them. A problem did develop in his previous home, though, where he started to react negatively if the kids bothered him when he didn’t want to pay. He did nip a couple of times if they messed with him while he was eating. If you have children in the home, they should be supervised to make sure they aren’t pushing Ace’s boundaries. Of course, with any pet it is important to teach your children how to respect them!
Ace is up to date on his vaccinations. He is also housebroken, and knows a few basic commands. Ace likes to be sassy sometimes, though, and has started to run from us in the yard when he isn’t ready for playtime to be over! It will be important that Ace isn’t left to roam, at least until his owner can work on his recall, as he can be quite difficult to catch when he wants to be!
Ace is ready to finally find the forever home that he deserves. If you are interested in providing that home to this sweet boy, stop by and meet him today!
