Abuelita!!! This sweet senior girl is around 50lbs and is perfectly happy taking life at her own pace. Abuelita is laid-back, easygoing, and happiest when she's napping, getting scratchies, or soaking up the sunshine. She gets along wonderfully with dogs of all ages and sizes, and she's good with cats, too! Abuelita is deaf and moves a little more slowly these days, but don't let that fool you. She has plenty of personality and just the right amount of senior sass. Abuelita is at the end of her heartworm treatment and, aside from some pesky on-and-off ear infections, she is in good health. She doesn't need much. Just a cozy place to nap, a sunny spot to lounge, and someone who will love her for all the sweet, sassy, special girl she is. Abuelita would love nothing more than to spend her golden years curled up beside you.

Big Paws of the Ozarks's Adoption Policy

All adopters must fill out an application on our website with all necessary information. From there, our staff will conduct a phone interview and answer any questions regarding the dog or the adoption process. Once approved, a meet and greet is scheduled with the family, dog, and dog's foster family. This is the time where other pets can be introduced. If the meet and greet goes well, we can send the dog in a trial adoption for a few days to make sure it is a perfect fit for everyone. From there the adoption is finalized through payment of the adoption fee and transferring of vet records.
