Abby's Story

Hi. My name is Abby.
I'm about 5 years old, around 60 pounds, and I'm a mixed breed girl who's already spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I'm fully house trained, crate trained, and I walk nicely on a leash.

I'll be honest with you right away-I'm shy. Very shy. I take my time getting comfortable, and new situations can make me nervous at first. But once I feel safe, I show my true self: gentle, affectionate, and deeply loving. I don't need to be the center of attention; I just want to belong.

I do well with other dogs and would enjoy having a calm dog friend in my home, though I'd be okay as your only pup too. I'd do best with older kids who understand giving me space while I build trust. Cats are unknown for me. A quiet, easy-going home with a fenced yard would be my dream come true.

I came into rescue in May 2024 after being found neglected and scarred, carrying more than just physical marks from my past. I was heartworm positive when I arrived, but I went through treatment and came out the other side stronger. I've been working hard ever since, learning that humans can be kind and homes can be safe.

If you're patient, gentle, and willing to let me open up at my own pace, I promise I'll love you with my whole heart. I don't need much-just consistency, calm, and someone who sees past my shyness and believes I'm worth the wait.
