A Loyal Boy, Mookie's Story
MOOKIE is:
* 50 lbs. of loyal companionship
* Toy enthusiast for tug and chew toys
* Expert car ride co-pilot
* Professional couch cuddler and belly rub collector
* Dog and Cat friendly
* The incredible reward of giving a deserving dog a second chance!

Mookie, 2 1/2 years, is sweetheart with much love to give. His favorite things are toys, lounging in the backyard sun, cozy couches, belly rubs, and spending time with the people and dogs he loves most. You'll often find him carrying a toy around the house, settling in for a chew session on the couch, or convincing his foster dog brother to engage in a game of tug. While he's always up for playtime, he's equally happy to spend the day lounging nearby, keeping you company as he snoozes.

Mookie is a big fan of spending time outdoors. Give him a safe backyard and he'd happily spend hours soaking up the sunshine and rolling around in the grass.

Mookie is independent! He handles alone time with ease and is content entertaining himself with a toy or taking a nap until his people come home. He's the kind of dog that doesn't need constant attention, he's simply happy being part of your world.

Like many sensitive dogs, Mookie needs time and patience when meeting new people. He can be uncertain around strangers at first and does best when introductions are slow, thoughtful, and pressure-free. Mookie needs an adopter who understands that trust is something built over time.

Mookie's ideal home is on the quieter side with a securely fenced yard, that provides privacy from external stimuli. He enjoys walks and outdoor adventures but will not enjoy busy downtown areas or crowded trails.

Mookie thrives in calm environments. His best outings are exploring large open fields on a long line (like Sniffspots!) where he can roam, sniff, and enjoy the world without feeling overwhelmed.

Mookie currently lives with another dog and does wonderfully with him. He finds comfort in the people and animals he knows and trusts, though he will need some extra time and patience when meeting new dogs.

A Note From Mookie's Foster Family;

"Living with Mookie has taught us that some of the most meaningful relationships take time to build. Mookie is a dog with big feelings, and earning his trust has been one of the most rewarding experiences we've ever had.
The dog we know today is goofy, affectionate, playful, and deeply loyal. He's incredibly sweet, sensitive, and full of personality once he feels safe. If the weather is nice, you'll often find him stretched out in the grass enjoying the sunshine, watching the world around him. He has an appreciation for the simple things in life, and seeing him relax outdoors is one of our favorite things about him.

What we love most about Mookie is how deeply he connects with the people he trusts. The relationship you build with him isn't superficial, it's earned. Every step forward feels meaningful because it's built on genuine trust. For someone willing to give a dog like Mookie a chance, the bond you'll create is truly unlike any other.

We know Mookie's needs won't be the right fit for every home, but we also know there is someone out there who understands that some of the most special dogs are the ones others may overlook. We can't wait for Mookie to find the person who sees just how incredible he is."

Mookie is currently fostered in Rehoboth, MA.

Mookie is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and fully vetted. His adoption includes virtual training and behavior support to help him successfully transition into his forever home.

Because Mookie needs time to feel comfortable with new people, meet-and-greets should be conducted over multiple sessions to allow him to get to know potential adopters at his own pace. We are committed to setting both Mookie and his future family up for success and will work closely with approved adopters throughout the introduction process.

Mookie is searching for a patient, understanding adopter who appreciates sensitive dogs, understands that trust is earned, and believes every dog deserves the opportunity to be loved for exactly who they are.

Questions? info@mrbonesandco.org Apply at: mrbonesandco.org/adopt
