A Bed to Sleep in's Story

Ruby came was used to breed. She came to us scared and uncertain of the outside world. Nancy her foster Mom worked with her and made her a happy girl. We do believe she should be in a home (no condo) with someone who is home all the time- an other friendly dog would be great as well. She had a dental, fully vetted, spayed and microchip. Her adoption fee will be determined by Tuesday when we can see how much her vet bill was.

A note from her foster Mom Nancy:
Ruby is a 5 year old, 15lb red poodle. She would be an absolutely delightful addition to anyone's home, a happy dog who is now
about 98 % house broken and walks well on a leash. She's very smart, loves to play with her "monkey" toy and run after
anything thrown for her ... however, her retrieving skills need lots of work!
Ruby loves to play on my kingsize bed - especially in the morning when she thinks she should help me make the bed. She'll jump into
my lap anytime I sit down, but obediently lays at my feet if it's not convenient to be in my lap.
Ruby sleeps all night in her crate, never making a peep. However, I had to put the crate in my bedroom so she could keep an eye on
me and not feel like she needed to bark all night! She goes for a nice long walk first thing in the morning and in the early evening.
Other times of the day she just runs out to pee - usually mid to late morning and mid afternoon. I do keep her in her crate when I'm
not home but feel she would be ok with the run of the house. She is known to bark when I leave her behind but, according to my
neighbors, it's not an incessant, continuous barking. I believe she should be happy moving in with a couple and/or another dog so
she wouldn't be left alone much. One more thing, Ruby is VERY smart and responds to direction well. AND - she has a great appetite!
