81 (2026) Copper's Story

Adoption Fee: $475

When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped!

What we know: Seized/Custody/Stray intake at Espanola Humane in Santa Fe, New Mexico - Mama Pepita and her 8 puppies (5F, 3M). Shelter separated them at 6 weeks old and Pepita came to CPR first to avoid needing to be boarded. Puppies came 2 weeks later after receiving second round of vaccines and resolving giardia symptoms.

From the foster: Meet your new snuggle buddy, Copper!

This handsome chocolate-colored cutie has four white paws, a white chest, and the most adorable little white goatee .... like he's already a distinguished gentleman. Add in his sweet, soulful eyes and wrinkly forehead, and it's basically impossible not to fall in love.

He's a solid, sturdy boy who's still figuring out the world, and wow has he been trying hard! In just a few days at his foster home, he went from "nope, not moving" on the leash to happily putting it on and heading out for walks like a champ. House-training is still a work in progress, but here's the good news: every time he goes outside, he does his business, which means he's this close to getting it all figured out!

He's not a big talker and is already learning that sitting politely gets him all the love and attention (way better than jumping, if you ask him). His absolute favorite thing? Being close to his people. This boy is a certified cuddle expert and would gladly trade toys for snuggle time any day.

He seems happiest in a calmer, laid-back home, but don't let that fool you, when his sister gets him going, he's more than happy to jump in and play. He's the perfect mix of chill companion and playful pal.

This sweet, snuggly guy is looking for a best friend who enjoys easy days, cozy nights, a little fresh air, and a whole lot of love. If you're ready for a loyal shadow with four white paws and a heart of gold, he's ready to meet you!

www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
