26Vail's Story

Name: Vail (aka Ricky)

Breed: Terrier Mix

Age: about 1 year old

Weight: 10 pounds

Dogs: yes

Cats: unknown

Kids: older yes, younger unknown

House-trained: yes, with consistency

Crate-trained: yes

Leash-trained: yes

This is Vail, but we call him Ricky which is short for Ricochet! When he’s in play mode he tends to ricochet off furniture, people, our resident dog, whatever’s around - it’s so funny!! He’s young and has medium energy levels mostly in the morning when he’s so excited to see his people after a good nights rest in his crate. He whines a little initially when we put him in his crate, but quiets down pretty quickly, and he’s also crated when we leave the house or take him in the car. He likes to jump up as a greeting and will stop once you take a minute to say hi back and give him some love. He also enjoys curling up on the couch or dog bed to enjoy some quiet time, If we leave the room he likes to follow and see what we’re up to - he’s a pretty curious and confident little guy. He really enjoys playing with toys, chewing bones, and playing with our resident GSD especially when he’s standing on the couch so he can be at eye level with her. He’s really great with older kids and would probably be fine around younger kids as long as they don’t mind him giving kisses. He enjoys short walks and just needs to learn how to walk in a straight line, but it’s so hard when there are so many interesting smells out there in the world. He’s so fun and makes us laugh all the time!!

If interested, we recommend submitting an adoption application at: www.foothilldogrescue.org

This dog will be available at Saturday’s adoption event at our rescue. Meet and greets are 11:00 - 1:00.

Our address is:

4131 S Shingle Rd suite 14
Shingle Springs, CA

Please bring all resident dogs and children that live in the household to the meet and greet.

Our adult dog adoption fee is $350 (with $5 processing fee if paid by card) and fee for pups under 4 months old is $400 (with $5 processing fee if paid by card). Adoption fee includes spay or neuter, rabies, DAPP and Bordetella vaccines, deworming, microchip, heart worm test and lifetime registration.
