26Mt. Fuji's Story

Name: Mt. Fuji (Phoebe)

Breed: Doodle

Age: 4-5

Weight: 42 lbs

Dogs: yes, of all sizes

Cats: Untested but probably

Kids: she’s done great with kids of all ages, but she’s still bouncy so those stable on their feet are best.

House trained: Yes

Crate Trained: Yes

Leash Trained: Yes

This is Mt. Fuji (aka “Phoebe”) is a sweet, energetic girl bursting with love. So much so that when her favorite people arrive home she vertically launches her whole body straight up in the air just to let you know how excited she is to see you.

When she first came home with us, she was unfamiliar with a number of things. First the doggy door. No problem however and she mastered it right away. Likewise, she quickly adjusted to sleeping in the crate all night. She loves taking walks and while it is still a bit of a work in progress, she is doing well on the leash. When we come across other people and dogs she is not overly interested in them. Probably because she is so busy exploring all the smells along the way…even if we had been on that same route earlier in the day, it is still just as fun for her.

She likes being with people yet is also good at initiating her own playtime and happily amuses herself with whatever toys she can find in the doggy toy box. The one thing that she still needs to work on is her manners. She likes to jump and wrap her arms around your waist to give you a hug. This may be a bit of a challenge with small children. While she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body and would never intentionally hurt anyone, we are still working on not jumping on people. The other thing that we are working on is sometimes while playing she can get a little mouthy. We are also working on this with her. She just wants to make sure you keep playing and know how much she wants to be with you.

She is a quick learner and with a little more work, she will easily learn good manners. She is a sweet girl and will soak up all the affection she can while showering her forever family with loads and loads of love.

If interested, we recommend submitting an adoption application at: www.foothilldogrescue.org

This dog will be available at Saturday’s adoption event at our rescue. Meet and greets are 11:00 - 1:00.

Our address is:

4131 S Shingle Rd suite 14
Shingle Springs, CA

Please bring all resident dogs and children that live in the household to the meet and greet.

Our adult dog adoption fee is $350 (with $5 processing fee if paid by card) and fee for pups under 4 months old is $400 (with $5 processing fee if paid by card). Adoption fee includes spay or neuter, rabies, DAPP and Bordetella vaccines, deworming, microchip, heart worm test and lifetime registration.
