26Aspen's Story
Name: Aspen

Breed Mix: A true melting pot of awesomeness!

Age: approx. 4 years old

Weight: 25-30lbs

Dogs: Yes!

Cats: Yes!

Kids: Yes!

House Trained: Yes!

Crate Trained: Yes!

Leash Trained: Yes!

Meet Aspen – Your New Best Friend!

Aspen is the definition of a companion dog. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow who wants to be wherever you are, Aspen is your girl. She absolutely adores her people and would love nothing more than to snuggle up right beside you at the end of the day.

Aspen is fully housetrained and will go to the back door when she needs to head outside. She is also crate trained and does wonderfully — she goes in easily at night or when her foster family is away and stays quiet until it’s time to come out. She even eats her meals in her crate (she’s a bit of a slow eater and without a defined space her foster sister will try to finish her food for her). While she hasn’t shown any signs of being destructive, her crate is a great safe space as she adjusts to a new home.

This sturdy little low-rider (about as tall as your average house cat and around 25–30 pounds) may be compact, but she’s full of heart. Aspen loves playing with other dogs! She enjoys wrestling with her 55-pound foster sister and happily chases along during games of fetch. She can be a little vocal when she plays, but it’s all part of her enthusiasm. Although she’s only been in foster with larger dogs, she previously lived in a home with many other dogs and is expected to do well with pups of all sizes.

Aspen generally ignores cats, though she may occasionally try to engage them in play or invade their personal space if they allow it.

She loves kids and greets new people happily. She’s gentle with children and thrives on attention. While she can be just a tiny bit shy with some men at first, she warms up quickly with a little patience.

Aspen walks nicely on leash, though she may pull slightly from time to time — she loves exploring the world through her nose! She rides well in the car and has a lovely low-to-medium energy level, making her just as happy going for an adventure as she is lounging at home.

Aspen would be perfectly content as the center of your world, but she’d also happily share your attention with a playful canine sibling.

If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate, sturdy little companion who will stick by your side through it all, Aspen is ready to meet you.

If interested, we recommend submitting an adoption application at: www.foothilldogrescue.org

This dog will be available at Saturday’s adoption event at our rescue. Meet and greets are 11:00 - 1:00.

Our address is:

4131 S Shingle Rd suite 14
Shingle Springs, CA

Please bring all resident dogs and children that live in the household to the meet and greet.

Our adult dog adoption fee is $350 (with $5 processing fee if paid by card) and fee for pups under 4 months old is $400 (with $5 processing fee if paid by card).
