251126 Hillary's Story
Please make sure to read the narrative below our pet's photos as you will find a description of our pet with all we know about them, our adoption fee info, and you will find the link to do our online Adoption Application which is the first step in our Adoption Process!

Please read ALL below where you will find answers about the pet, our adoption fees and how to do our adoption application!
Pet Description: Hillary is a very special lady, 4 1/2-years-old as of mid-Mar '26, 65 lbs. She has been with us since Jul '25 as the cruelty case involving her wended its way through the system. She came to us extremely emaciated and had been more or less abandoned in a home. In the end the person responsible was found guilty. Once she got back up to an acceptable weight, we then had to tackle getting her treated for heartworms as she had tested very high positive. It is now mid-March 2026 and we can happily report Hillary is completely DONE with all of her heartworm treatment so can finally get out to do some rip roaring around! Even while being with us for so long, Hillary is sweet as can be, great with male and female dogs, just a very loving and sweet lady. She so deserves a home where she never again knows hunger or being left behind and a big comfy bed she can lounge while she helps her owner watch TV, and will NEVER miss being on heartworm prevention either!

DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more. (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter).

The first step is to our Adoption Application here: https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html .
