195 (2026) Lady's Story
Adoption Fee: $475

When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped!

What we know: Transferred from Irving Animal Services, Irving, Texas, at approximately 5 years old, fixed, fully vaccinated. Original owner, when in quickly failing health, feared her animals ending up in neglectful situations, attempted to end all of their lives and her own by gunshot, Lady survived a gunshot wound to the head. She was treated and made a full recovery.

From the foster: We have now been blessed to have Lady in our home for 4 days. She is quiet, timid, and very sweet. She doesn't play with toys and is a little picky about both treats and food. She is an absolute joy to have in our house. Not knowing anything about her first 5 years of life, we are learning about her each day. She picked up on our dog door on day one and simply goes outside when she needs to potty. No accidents in the house. She gets along with our dogs just fine but really hasn't shown any interest in playing with them yet. Our two dogs are both 8-10 years old and don't have any interest in playing. They simply co-exist. She is happy to be wherever her humans are at. I take her to work with me each day and she is basically with me 24/7. She has become very attached to me in this short time and will become attached to her new family quite quickly too. Because of our older dog sleeping with us already, she has adapted to a kennel at night very well. However, she is only in a kennel because of our dog in bed. We think she would LOVE to sleep at the foot of our bed or maybe in our bed. Again, she wants to be with her humans all the time. She knows basic commands like sit and even shake if you catch her being playful. She loves when I grab her leash and needs some training being on a leash as she pulls a little bit. She has a sweet playful jump sometimes and gets excited to see you if you disappear for even a minute. Her eyes are beautiful and she looks at us with such love in her eyes. She will make one lucky family a sweet loyal friend for many years to come. Do you deserve to be that family? If you think you do, please come meet her.

www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
